A century of stainless steel fastener innovation
In 2026, BUMAX is proud to mark a century of stainless steel fastener production and innovation at its Åshammar factory.
A century is a long time in manufacturing. The cold heading machines of 1926 have made way to advanced precision forming equipment, and handwritten records have been replaced by digital management systems. The single stainless steel fastener of 1926 has been expanded into specialized product ranges, each providing an optimized balance of high strength, corrosion resistance, temperature tolerance and magnetic permeability for specific applications.
But what has not changed is our fundamental commitment to offer stainless steel fasteners for demanding applications and to continuously invest in fastener innovation to solve engineering challenges that have no present solutions.
Our centenary is not merely a historical milestone. It is a statement of continuity — from the forge at Åshammar in 1660 to the advanced stainless steel bolts of today, and our state-of-the-art factory that will be complete in 2027.
